Update Austria
The Ministry of Social Affairs has issued a new regulation restricting access to Austria. However, this arrangement does currently not apply to freight traffic and for our drivers.

Update Belgium
There are delays at the border crossings to Belgium. Requests have been made to separate passenger and freight traffic as early as possible in order to ensure that freight traffic can easily cross the border.

Update Spain
In Spain it is recommended to ensure that all drivers have this form when in Spain. The form via TLN.

Update 25 March 2020

Roosendaal, 25 March 2020 – The unprecedented situation caused by Covid-19 brought the automotive industry to a near standstill. As a result, our assembly activities have temporarily stopped as well.
However; we are Jan de Rijk Logistics and we won’t sit still waiting!

Update France, Germany and Romania

There is new information available from the Transport Logistics Netherlands (TLN) about transport in France, Germany and Romania.

France
The French Government has released an update form for transport: justificatif de déplacement professionnel. From now on, also the validity of the document must be stated, for example two months. This means that we do not have to provide a different form every time we drive through France for the transport of goods.

Germany
Germany published a new overview of the driving bans in Germany. Exemptions of driving bans on Sunday and during holiday periods have been updated. This updated list can be found here: driving bans in Germany.

Romania
A form is required at border crossing points with Romania. All persons, also truck drivers, entering Romania must complete this form. The form can be found here: Form border crossing points.

Update 24 March 2020

Roosendaal, 24 March 2020 – To date, our transport services in Europe still continue unabated, but it is important to keep in mind that there will be border delays as a result of the additional controls at the border. Update 20 March 2020

Roosendaal, 20 March 2020 – TLN (Transport and Logistics Netherlands) published an update that answered the question: “Which borders are open and which borders are not open?”. In this update, we will provide you a short summary of this document of TLN. This document includes information about the Coronavirus in Europe and the borders in Europe.

Belgium
There will be no measures for freight transport in Belgium. Besides, there is a relaxation of driving and rest times for transport from 14 to 31 March 2020 for drivers involved in transport of medicines and essential goods.

Denmark
Denmark closed its borders, but not for freight transport. Freight transport from and to Denmark can cross the border in both directions. There are measures taken at the border crossing points to ensure that trucks can more easily cross the border. This arrangement lasts until 13 April 2020.

Germany
There are extra controls, but no other restrictions on border crossing points for transport of goods. The German Government has asked the federal states to suspend the weekend bans on truck movements to alleviate the situation during the crisis.

Finland
Transport of freight and goods continues as normal in Finland.

France
Freight transport is still possible and therefore the borders are currently not closed for the transport of goods.

Hungary
The border from Austria to Hungary is closed for freight transport. Moreover, the borders from Hungary to Slovenia are closed. Freight transport arriving and departing from Hungarian destinations is allowed to cross the border and can continue the journey without restrictions.

Italy
Goods can still be transported to and from Italy. The transport of goods is considered as essential, therefore truck drivers can enter and leave Italy.

Netherlands
Transport is still possible in Europe.

Austria
Austria suspends enforcement of driving and rest times for the period until 13 April 2020.

Poland
In order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, location forms at the border are mandatory, also for truck drivers.

Portugal
They will carry out border controls. Freight transport is still possible, but only the large border crossings are opened.

Slovenia
Foreign trucks over 3.5 tons are not allowed to pass the border. Only trucks that have goods for Slovenia as final destination or trucks that are loaded with special stamps for medical equipment or pharmaceuticals are allowed.

Slovakia
Freight transport is still possible and allowed.

Spain
International freight transport from and to Spain remains possible.

Czech Republic
The Czech Republic closes its borders, but freight transport is still possible. The Czech Republic suspends enforcement of driving and rest times until 16 April 2020.

United Kingdom
The United Kingdom has taken measures, but these measures do not affect international and domestic freight transport.

Sweden
Freight transport is still possible.

Switzerland
International transport of goods remains possible.

Despite these developments, it is important to keep in mind that there will be border delays as a result of the additional controls at the borders. Look here for the Truck Border Crossing Times.

Update 18 March 2020

Roosendaal, 18 March 2020 – Many countries are taking drastic measures to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus. The EU countries have decided to drastically limit the possibilities for personal travel to the Schengen area. That is why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs now advises people to stop traveling abroad unless necessary.

Apart from these restrictions at the borders for the movement of people, transportation of goods is still possible. This means that we can still transport your goods throughout Europe. Please keep in mind that there may be delays at the borders due to the controls that are performed. The outside borders of the EU are closed, so we cannot transport your goods outside the EU.

Roosendaal, 17 March 2020 – We realize that in this time of crisis, it is critical that we make it possible for you to continue your operations and help you respond to the demands that you may be facing. Of course, the health and welfare of both our employees and your employees remain a priority. We have put in place many infection-mitigating actions which should result in a reduction of potential transmission. Update 13 March 2020

Roosendaal, 13 March 2020 – The past few days authorities and healthcare institutions have issued more restrictions and regulations in order to contain the Corona virus. In general these measurements restrict the mobility of people. So far these restrictions are not applicable on the movement of goods, however indirectly they might affect operations, production and consumption patterns.

Jan de Rijk Logistics has therefore taken practical measures to ensure contingency of operations and protect our people from exposure. These measures are strictly in line with any directive or advise from the relevant authorities. Our steering group has been installed. This steering group monitors the available information provided by the relevant healthcare and governmental institutions, coordinates the (pro)active actions within Jan de Rijk Logistics and is preparing contingency plans.

Update 11 March 2020

Roosendaal, 11 March 2020 – In Italy, there is a lockdown in the whole country for private travel issued by the Italian Government. We have taken the necessary measures and to date we can still supply our customers in Italy.

Therefore, all our operations (Road and Intermodal Transport) still continue, also in Italy. We closely follow the news regarding developments, and we will inform you of any changes that may be important to you.

Roosendaal, 9 March 2020 – To date, we have not yet experienced any difficulties in supplying our customers in Northern Italy. With the information as it is known at the moment, we will therefore still operate our transports to Italy on schedule.

Update 28 February 2020

Roosendaal, 28 February 2020 – The Corona (Covid-19) virus continues to spread through Europe. In China we have seen how disruptive and widespread the effect of an outbreak can be on people, but also on logistic services. Still, despite difficulties, transports and distribution of goods remain an essential service. This has to be done responsibly, by taking active measures based upon the latest insights and directions from the authorities.

Important to know: at the moment of this writing no cases of infection are present within Jan de Rijk Logistics. We have had no trips to China in the recent months. We strictly follow the rules of the authorities, avoid travel risks, and closely monitor the movements of our employees. In order to coordinate our efforts a Covid-19 steering group has been installed.

Update 26 February 2020

Roosendaal, 26 February 2020 – The Italian government has taken action against the Coronavirus in Italy. There is currently an entry and exit ban in ‘Red Zones’ in Italy. It currently concerns 10 municipalities in the province of Lombardy (Casalpusterlengo, Codogno, Castiglione d’Adda, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico, Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo and San Fiorano) and a municipality in the province of Padova (Vo’ Euganeo).

Jan de Rijk Logistics still takes care of the transport of your goods to Italy, except in the 11 municipalities just mentioned.
