HOW DO YOU LOOK BEYOND THE NEXT DELIVERY WHEN EVERY CHOICE HAS IMPACT?

HOW DO YOU LOOK BEYOND THE NEXT DELIVERY WHEN EVERY CHOICE HAS IMPACT?

ESG at Jan de Rijk Logistics is about the environment, people and good governance. Applied practically in day-to-day logistics operations.
Jan de Rijk Logistics works on ESG in transport and logistics with a focus on CO2 reduction, safety, people, governance, supply chain responsibility, certifications, EcoVadis and transparent reporting.
RESPONSIBLE LOGISTICS

LOGISTICS THAT LOOKS BEYOND THE NEXT DELIVERY.

Every shipment requires execution. But responsible business means more than delivering today. That's why, at Jan de Rijk Logistics, we look at the impact of our choices. On the environment. On our people. On customers, partners and the chain we operate in.

For us, ESG isn't a separate programme sitting alongside the operation. It's part of how we plan, drive, work together, improve and take responsibility.

MORE THAN COMPLIANCE

MORE THAN A TICK-BOX EXERCISE.

ESG isn't just about rules, reports or certificates. It's about the way a logistics organisation makes choices. Which fuel fits this route? How do we keep people safe and engaged? How do we protect data? How do we work with suppliers? And how do we make progress visible to customers?

Those questions are part of our day-to-day operations. That's why we translate ESG into practical steps that work in the reality of transport, warehousing and supply chains.

FROM INSIGHT TO ACTION

FROM MATERIAL TOPICS TO CONCRETE STEPS.

Responsible business starts with knowing where your impact lies. That's why we map out our key ESG topics. We look at what matters to customers, employees, partners, management and the wider chain.

These insights help us set priorities. Not everything at once. But step by step improvement. With choices that fit our operation and add value for the people and organisations around us.

Responsibility starts with knowing where you can make a difference.

THREE ESG PILLARS

RESPONSIBLE LOGISTICS STARTS WITH CLEAR CHOICES.

ESG only gains value once it's clear where you take responsibility. That's why we work from three pillars that connect directly to our day-to-day operations. We look at our impact on the planet, the care we take of our people and the way we do business with integrity and care. These three belong together. Because sustainable logistics requires lower emissions, good people and clear agreements.

This is how we make ESG concrete. Not as standalone policy, but as direction for better choices in transport, warehousing, collaboration and the wider chain.

PLANETWe work to reduce our impact through cleaner fuels, electric trucks where they fit, more efficient planning, better loading and greater insight into emissions.
PEOPLEWe invest in safe working conditions, expertise, training, health, engagement and respectful collaboration.
INTEGRITYWe uphold good governance with clear agreements, privacy, information security, fair business practice, anti-corruption measures, supplier policy and risk management.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

REDUCING OUR FOOTPRINT, ROUTE BY ROUTE.

As a logistics organisation, we know where our impact lies. It sits mainly in transport, fleet, energy and planning. That's why we look at each flow to see which step has the most effect. Sometimes HVO100 is the right choice. Sometimes electric transport. Sometimes a different route, smarter loading or better use of capacity.

This lets us reduce impact without compromising the reliability of the operation.

LOWER IMPACT IN DAILY OPERATIONS

SUSTAINABLE CHOICES THAT WORK.

Sustainable logistics calls for solutions that fit the flow. Sometimes HVO100 is the right step. Sometimes electric transport. Sometimes different planning, better loading or smarter use of capacity.

We're becoming more sustainable step by step, without compromising the reliability of the operation.

HVO100Where it fits the flow, we use HVO100 as a practical step towards direct CO2 reduction.
ELECTRIC TRANSPORTWe deploy electric trucks where route, planning, charging options and operational readiness come together.
SMARTER CAPACITYWith more efficient trips, higher loading and targeted planning, we reduce the impact per unit transported.
CO2 INSIGHTWe’re working on better emissions data, so customers get more control over their footprint and scope 3 reporting.
PEOPLE MAKE IT WORK

GOOD WORK STARTS WITH GOOD PEOPLE.

Logistics remains a people business. Drivers, planners, warehouse staff, technicians and specialists keep the operation moving every day. That’s why ESG is also about safe working conditions, fair terms of employment, training, health, engagement and a working environment where people can do their jobs well. Our responsibility doesn’t stop with our own employees. We also expect partners, subcontractors and suppliers to work carefully, safely and with respect.

We invest in expertise, clear processes and respectful collaboration. Because good service is only possible with good people.

DOING BUSINESS THE RIGHT WAY

TRANSPARENCY IS OUR STANDARD.

Good governance is about trust. About how you make decisions, keep to agreements and uphold responsibility. At Jan de Rijk Logistics, we work with clear agreements and policies covering integrity, anti-corruption, quality, safety, privacy, information security, ethics, risk management, reporting procedures and collaboration with partners.

Governance helps us manage risk, protect data, carefully assess suppliers and do business fairly. We follow developments in European regulation, such as CSRD and supply chain responsibility, and prepare our organisation for these step by step.

CONNECTED RESPONSIBILITY

RESPONSIBLE CHOICES ACROSS THE CHAIN.

ESG doesn’t stop at our own organisation. Our choices affect customers, partners, suppliers, subcontractors and the communities we operate in. That’s why we look at the entire chain. At fuel, planning, safety, data, reporting, suppliers and collaboration.

We also expect careful, safe and honest conduct from partners and suppliers. Through clear agreements, screening and, where appropriate, a supplier code of conduct, we make that responsibility concrete.

Responsibility is not a separate track. It is how we move forward.

EXTERNALLY VALIDATED

ASSURANCE THAT GOES BEYOND POLICY.

ESG requires assurance. That’s why we work with external assessments, certifications and audits that help make our performance visible and drive further improvement. Our certifications and assessments cover topics such as quality, environment, information security and corporate social responsibility. Think ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and EcoVadis.

For customers, this builds trust. For us, it provides direction. Not as an endpoint, but as a tool to reduce risk and make improvements concrete

ECOVADIS PROGRESS

FROM POLICY TO MEASURABLE PROGRESS.

EcoVadis helps make ESG performance visible and improve it in a targeted way. In 2026, our EcoVadis score rose to 52 points, up from 41 points in 2025. A clear step forward.

For us, that score isn’t an endpoint. It confirms the direction we’ve taken and gives us a tool to keep improving on environment, people, ethics and sustainable procurement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT ESG MEANS IN PRACTICE.

ESG needs to be clear. That’s why, below, we answer the key questions about CO2 reduction, scope 3, EcoVadis, governance and supply chain responsibility. Practical, honest and focused on what customers need.

ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. For Jan de Rijk Logistics, this means taking responsibility for the environment, people and good governance. Applied practically in transport, planning, collaboration and the day-to-day operations.
We work with clear agreements, codes of conduct and policies covering fair business practice, integrity, privacy, information security, quality and safety. These practices safeguard not only what we deliver, but also how we work.

We work on CO2 reduction through HVO100, electric trucks where they fit, more efficient planning, better use of capacity and greater insight into emissions. For each flow, we look at which step is practical, achievable and effective.
We don't make big promises without a basis in our operations. We look at what works, what's measurable and where we can improve step by step. ESG has to stay achievable. That fits with how we work.
Sustainability is an important part of ESG, particularly within Environmental. ESG is broader. It also covers safety, being a good employer, ethics, information security, supply chain responsibility and transparent reporting.
We expect our partners and suppliers to work carefully, safely and with integrity. That's why we're paying increasingly close attention to quality, safety, conduct, supply chain responsibility and sustainable collaboration.
Transport has an impact on customers' scope 3 emissions. That's why we're working on better insights into emissions and on choices that help you understand the footprint of logistics flows more clearly, and reduce it where possible.

We start by opening the conversation and working towards improvement together. If a partner structurally fails to meet agreements on safety, integrity or supply chain responsibility, this can affect the partnership.
We work with clear policies and processes for privacy and information security. Customer, operational and personal data are all handled with care and in line with applicable laws and regulations, including the AVG/GDPR.
