Then we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join our business unit International Transport. We are looking for a fulltime Business Analyst who wants to work in a self-steering team. Taking ownership of the tasks to be performed and take on an active role in advising the best discussions for our operational processes to fulfill customers needs optimally.

Your job

As a Business Analyst, you are responsible for understanding and assessing the changing needs of the business unit International Transport. Your main goal is to initiate new ideas and have an impact on the required developments. We expect that you will be making a constructive contribution to the unique and challenging tasks on a daily basis.

To achieve this goal, it requires strong communication skills from you. Especially to make processes and their underlying structure of data accessible to relevant stakeholders. You also need the ability to adapt and be open-minded to learn, become active and face new challenges not only within, but also beyond of the fields of International Transport.

The following key words are important in your new job:

Optimization: You will identify problems and opportunities, so changes will be applied for greater efficiencies.
For instance the automation to determine the salary of Driver Bonus increased the lead-time of the determination of the salary each month.

Modelling: You will translate economics and business questions into econometric models.
To give insights into the dynamic changes of the resources like tractors, drivers or freight on the operational performance.

Analysis Projects: You will be executing various analysis projects in a team or independently, this includes the definition, executions and presentation of results.
In particular if fundamental changes like the Mobility Package take place, for the organization it is important to determine what the impact will be and which risk will arise, as well as their consequences.

Visualization: You will be visualizing solutions and data with Business Intelligence Tools or software’s e.g. Qlik.
To put the focus on the operational activities, Qlik can give insights if KM Targets are being reached or how network changes can impact the operational KPI’s.

A key part in your job is to gather the required information by asking the right questions to the right people. You will be responsible for an objective point of view, in order to take a critical look at existing and new processes. So insights will be derived to reveal associations and correlations in order to strive for excellent results.

You will be working with a dynamic team of professionals within the Business Unit International Transport, and also with employees from other business units or departments within Jan de Rijk Logistics. In this role you will report to the Director of International Transport.

Qualities

The described values of analytical skills, problem-solving oriented and self-driven independence, as well as the extraordinary challenges associated with the position as Business Analyst. Are you the ideal candidate? Then you have the following qualities:

• High level education (Bachelor Degree in technical, science, business, or related discipline);
• Ideally you already have experience within International Transport, but it is okay if you don’t. We will learn it to you!
• You already have experience with analysis or process optimization;
• Your capabilities to solve (analytical) problems are excellent;
• You prefer a job in a fast-paced environment and you have the ability to handle multiple projects as well as tasks in parallel;
• You have the ability to think critically but also out of the box;
• You know all tricks from Microsoft Office Excel;
• You’re fluent in Dutch and English;
• You live in a radius of 40 to 50 km around Roosendaal.
